"I wanted to return this card. The woman at returns couldn't do it; said I had to talk to you."
"Well, let's see what we have here. Oh, a birthday card?"
"Yes, I would like to return it."
"But it was purchased more than 30 days ago. That's store policy."
"I know. It took a while for it to come back."
"This is a birthday card for your mom. What's wrong with it?"
"It came back and I have no use for it."
"But sir, you have already filled it out and signed it."
"And you addressed the envelope and mailed it."
"I can't take it back with writing on it. Plus you mailed it. The envelope cannot be used again."
"Why was it sent back? Don't you know her address?"
"I know the address. The post office said they can't deliver it to that address."
"I find it hard to believe that she has no deliverable address."
"Well, that's what the Postal Service said, they certainly believe it."
"Why don't you hand-deliver it."
"I can't do that yet."
"This is odd. Okay, I will give you credit for another card. Okay?"
"That won't do me any good. If they couldn't deliver this one, they won't another."
"I don't understand what I can do for you, sir."
"Unfortunately, some day you will."
